Eucalyptus grandis is a straight-growing tree commonly found in the Kenyan highlands, including Trans-Nzoia, Bungoma, and Kiambu, at altitudes of 1,500–2,500 meters above sea level.

It is an excellent source of transmission poles, industrial wood fuel, construction wood, and pulpwood. It is also used for furniture, poles, and posts.

The tree can grow up to 50 meters tall. For best results, plant during the rainy season (March–May) with a spacing of 2.5 × 2.5 meters.

It is extremely fast-growing, making it ideal for commercial use.
