Eucalyptus globulus has a tall, evergreen tree. This species Blue gum is one of the most extensively planted world wide. It is normally grown in highland areas such as Kenya’s Molo and Nyandarua region. Best suited to grow in altitudes between 2000- 3000 meters above sea level.

The E. globolus is the primary source of global eucalyptus oil production. It is an excellent source of transmission poles, veneers, essential oils, building timber, and pulpwood. It is also used for bee forage, wind breakers, and fence posts. In some regions, the leaves of this tree are used as a herbal tea,

The tree is slightly shorter than the E. grandis or E. saligna. At full maturity, the E. globulus grows up to a height of over 50 meters tall. For best results, plant during the rainy season (March–May) with a spacing of 2.5 × 2.5 meters.

This Eucalyptus species is a widely cultivated forest tree and is suitable in plantation farming or forests.
