Botanical name: Eucalyptus camaldulensis

Eucalyptus camaldulensis has a slender stature when growing and has a smooth creamy white bark. It is normally grown in semi arid, low land areas such as Kenya’s lake side area in Nyanza and the Coast. Hence why they are found near waterways. Best suited to grow in altitudes under 2000 meters above sea level.

It is an excellent source of transmission poles, veneers, building timber, and pulpwood. It is also used for bee forage, windbreakers, and fence posts.

The tree is slightly shorter than the E. grandis or E. saligna. At full maturity, the E. camaldulensis grows up to a height of 40 meters tall. For best results, plant during the rainy season (March–May) with a spacing of 2.5 × 2.5 meters.
